What does an ISO certification really cost?
The honest answer consists of four items, of which most quotes show only one. We show all four — including the ones we incur.
- Consulting, certification body, travel costs and internal effort — in full
- All assumptions disclosed and verifiable
- No form in front: result visible immediately

Combine standards
Build your system
Choose the ISO standards that fit your company. The price is shown immediately. Every additional standard becomes cheaper. If you want to save even more, choose the annual fee.

How to get your certificate
Four steps to your certificate
Log in and clarify scope
You tell us how big your company is, where you work and what you do. We explain how extensive the audit will be.
1 to 2 daysOne registration meeting for all standards
Prepare
You use templates, task lists and notes on missing documents. You can easily adapt the AI-generated files.
1 to 6 weeks, depending on paceOne shared documentation
Audit in two stages
First we check your documents and whether you are ready. Then we check whether the rules really work in your daily work.
1 to 4 daysOne combined audit plan, one appointment
Decision and certificate
An independent auditor decides. If successful, you receive your digital certificate, which is visible in the online transparency register.
1 to 3 daysOne certificate document with multiple standards
Step 2 is the only step whose duration depends on the chosen pace: with Express it is omitted because the system is already running. With Standard it takes one to three weeks, with Guided up to six. The other three steps are the same length in all paces.
The right pace
You set the pace. We tell you honestly what's possible.
We don't audit less thoroughly or more briefly than others. What we save above all is waiting time. All three speeds are audited according to the same rules.
48 hours
Express
Change of certification body or very tight deadline
- What happens: Review, decision and certificate
- Your system is already running, your documents are complete
- Internal audit and management review have been carried out
2–4 weeks
Standard
Most small and medium-sized enterprises
- What happens: Documents are organized and prepared with AI. Then the review follows.
- Your processes are already working
- Documents are missing or not yet complete
2–8 weeks
Guided
Initial certification without preparation
- What happens: You build your system together with an independent partner. Then the review follows.
- So far only a few rules, processes or documents
- Independent consulting partners from our network
We audit according to the same rules for all three options. How extensive the audit will be depends, for example, on your number of employees, your locations and the type of your work.
Total costs
Three items that appear in no quote — and still occur
Anyone comparing quotes for an ISO certification usually only compares the price of the certification body. That is the smaller part of the calculation.
Internal effort
The largest single item in almost every project. Three people over four months, half a day per week each, amount to roughly 25 person-days — a five-figure sum that appears nowhere.
Surveillance audits
A certificate is valid for three years, but a surveillance audit takes place every year. Anyone who only compares the initial audit is only comparing part of it. Admittedly the most expensive part.
Travel, incidental and waiting costs
Travel, expenses, preparation time — and the weeks in which an order cannot be accepted because the certificate is still missing.
Your figures, our assumptions — both visible
The calculator shows the external costs in the standard view: consulting, certification body, and travel and incidental costs. You can add your internal effort — in almost every project it is the largest item, and it depends more on your organization than anything else in this cost calculation.
Non-binding model calculation. The actual audit scope is determined according to the applicable rules for determining audit time and may differ. Not an offer in the legal sense.
Transparency
Where our figures come from
The audit days are based on the internationally common rules for determining audit time depending on the number of employees, locations, and complexity. The daily rates for consulting and certification are market averages for the German-speaking region; you can set the internal full-cost rate yourself.
All of this is shown in the calculator under "Assumptions" and can be adjusted. If you consider other rates to be realistic, calculate with your own.
Frequently Asked Questions about the Cost Calculator
Because three cost drivers are eliminated: the separate consulting mandate, the administrative overhead of an accredited structure, and the travel time for audits that can also be done digitally. The audit standard remains the same.
Because in classic projects, most of the calendar time is queueing, not auditing: waiting for a consulting offer, for an auditor appointment, for travel, for the committee meeting. That's why the calculator shows time and money side by side — for most customers, the time savings is the more valuable figure.
No. It shows a model calculation. We create a binding offer after a brief discussion about scope and locations. Or you book and use our fixed-price offers.
Because it is the largest item and is systematically missing in offer comparisons. Anyone who leaves it out is not comparing the costs of certification, but only the certification body's invoice. In the standard view, we still leave it out so that the figure remains comparable with other offers — you can add it with one click.
From the number of employees, locations, and complexity, according to the internationally common rules. For multiple standards, the reduction for combined audits is taken into account. The complete derivation is shown in the calculator under the "Audit Days" tab.
The calculator covers up to three locations. Beyond that, we create an individual offer, because sampling procedures and the resulting travel effort — even for us — change the cost calculation.
Both. The exchange rate is maintained centrally and shown in the result with the date.
